Fabric History/Pedigree: 1960's pieces derived from deadstock roll of kimono silk; (Deadstock means old inventory which is like new but has been in storage, never been used);
Fabric Description: Japanese vintage silk kimono fabric designed for use in making high-end formal woman's silk kimono; designs of two clusters of plum blossom flowers -- one white and one dark pink-ruby-red in each yard -- with backgrounds in various stylized water swirls and other traditional designs and effects; significant metallic gold accents printed throughout ; note also diagonal bands of different colors as well as crinkled design lines appearance throughout the lighter fields(see close-ups).
If ordering multiple lengths, FYI, the pattern of flower clusters (3 red, 2 white) repeats every 78 inches.
Type: light-medium-weight Japanese silk, slight drape.
Colors: Background is a mix of varied shades of light to medium toned differing pastel pinks, rouge, reds, with some light black and grays; (see close-ups. )
