Item Details and Description

Fabric History/Pedigree: 1960's, pieces derived from deadstock roll of kimono silk; (Deadstock means old inventory which is like new but has been in storage, never been used)

Fabric Description: Very high-quality silk, Japanese vintage silk kimono fabric used to make lady's higher-end type kimono; smaller design flowers have been hand-shibori dyed with interwoven textured design swirl lines throughout the fabric (see close-ups).

Fabric Type: Light-medium weight silk, print on one side, nice drape; great for making scarves or clothing accessories; even suitable for framing.

Measurements: width =14 inches/ 35.56cm; Length= 1 Yard (.91m).

Colors: backgrounds -- creamy ivory-tan with various shades of light-peach colors; accent leaves & blossoms are deep bright-green, peach and red-vermillion;

Motifs: traditional sense but with more contemporary feel; larger blossoms are stylized cherry blossoms, and the smaller leaves and blossoms are also; The entire fabric is interwoven background of stylized (as in traditional Japanese art) waves in symmetrical undulations, rendering a textured feel to the touch with the wave lines.

Our pictures don't do this fabric justice.

Condition: Excellent.
