Fabric History/Pedigree: 1960's, pieces derived from deadstock roll of kimono silk; (Deadstock means old inventory which is like new but has been in storage, never been used)
Fabric Description: Japanese vintage silk kimono black fabric used to make everyday women's kimono; Motifs are intentionally fuzzy (similar to kasuri/ikat)clusters of 4 diamonds with round bit in center, these groupings arrange horizontally in even rows throughout; see close-ups for configurations.
Fabric Type: Lightweight silk, same on both sides; fabric is slightly textured to the touch, no sheen; has a kasuri feel to it but don't think it is woven in kasuri method.
Measurements: width =14 inches/ 35.56cm; Length= 1 Yard (.91m).
Colors: The background is black with the diamond shapes in a variety of pastels such as light moss-green, apricot and off-white.
