Fabric Description: Japanese vintage muslin kimono fabric used to make woman's under-kimono; deadstock (old but never used, taken from a roll.
Light-medium weight muslin, slight drape; Japanese wool is smoother and tighter weave than many Western worsted types of wool. (Interesting discussion of the term worsted wool is here.
Measurements: width=14,5 inches / 36.83 cm; Length= 1 Yard (.91m).Colors: Background is orange-red (vermillion/shuiro) with a wide range of colors in pastels and darks; a predominance of cream-white.
Motifs: This is a common classic traditional Japanese motif using an abundance of all sorts of blossom (cherry, plum) as well as chrysanthemums, bamboo leaves and stylized flower shapes which have shibori-look pixels inside. clouds, mostly in pastel tones;
