Fabric History/Pedigree: 1980's pieces derived from deadstock roll of kimono silk; (Deadstock means old inventory which is like new but has been in storage, never been used);
Fabric Description: Japanese vintage silk kimono fabric designed for use in making woman's formal dress silk kimono; Multiple traditional motifs: decorated decorative balls with cherry blossoms and more (temari) in predominantly pastel colors; colors vary widely with gradation type coloring in soft peach, gray, pinks, white, black and lavenders; there is tiny rectangular (traditional zig-zag lines) throughout background fabric done by interweaving.(see close-ups).
