Item Details and Description

Fabric History/Pedigree: 1960's, found as deadstock roll silk, never used.

Fabric Description: Light high quality Japanese kimono silk fabric in a cocoa powder brown color throughout, rendered with an interesting look due to a striated texture to the fabric -- the uneven weaving causes horizontal irregular stripes in the fabric, alternating between having sheen and not having sheen. Most distinctive.

Type: Light-weight Japanese silk, nice drape; 1/4 inch drape on each side; NOTE: on one side's selvedge there is a single metallic golden thread all along it.

Colors: The color was difficult to capture so while our pictures are close to the color seen in good light, note that the color is a light creamy brown, sort of the color of light cocoa powder. As said above, the difference in sheen gives this a very special color and we can only image how beautiful a kimono made of this would look.

Condition: Excellent.

SUITABLE FOR SCARF OR CLOTHING ACCESSORY DESIGNER PURPOSES; WHOLE ROLL IS AVAILABLE TO MAKE WOMANS KIMONO (CONTACT US FOR DISCOUNTED PRICE IF BUYING ROLL.)
