Fabric History/Pedigree: 1960's, deadstock bolt of Japanese wool; (Deadstock means old inventory which is like new, but has been in storage, never been used)
Fabric Description: Japanese vintage wool kimono fabric, printed on one side.
Fabric Type: Light-weight ; Japanese wool is smoother and tighter weave than many Western worsted wools. (Interesting discussion of the term worsted wool is here.)
Motifs & Colors: Background is black with a grid composed of bordered 2.5 inch (6.3cm) at widest diamond shapes in diagonal grid; different flower designs in each bordered shape; borders are white with red bars partially on each side; flowers are white and gold with some having also red with bright color flowers (orange, pink, white, green).
