Item Details and Description
Fabric History/Pedigree: 1960's fabric, deadstock (like new, never used from another era) for use in making higher end lady's silk kimono; 100% Japanese silk; Received as full roll; designs shown are continuous.
Fabric Type: Light-weight pale ivory colored silk, 100% Japanese certified silk, slight drape with slight sheen throughout; tradtional stylized circular arc wave designs are interwoven throughout; salmon colors are dotted as a sort of background; Ornate tsuzumi drum designs (4 per yard) are staggered down the fabric lengthwise.
Motifs: Each tsuzumi is slightly different, all have traditional flowers and decorative cords swirling beneath the tsuzumi (see closeups.)colors within the circle shapes are salmon color background with olive-green, mustard and white flowers; Tsuzumi circle designs are 2.5 inches / 6.4cm diameter.
