Item Details and Description

Fabric History/Pedigree: 1960's fabric, deadstock (like new, never used from another era) for use in making higher end lady's  silk kimono; 100% Japanese silk; Received as full roll; designs shown are continuous.

Fabric Type: Light-weight pastel peach and pink gradation colored silk, with tiny (1/8th inch[.125"/3.175mm]) blossoms throughout; drape with slight sheen within the petals;  The term komon means literally 'small mon(family crest)', but is sometimes used to describe smaller size designs; these types are often popular with doll-makers or those working on small scale projects; designs are interwoven so on both sides.

Colors: Pastel peachand pink.

Motifs: Entire fabric field of view  seems to be of falling cherry blossoms; this is consistent throughout; this evocative use of  imagery is common in this period of kimono fabrics when fabric makers were experimenting with new designs and colors yet remaining true to tradition.

Condition: Excellent.

NOTE: Multiple lengths ordered will be sent in one uncut piece.
