Item Details and Description

Fabric History/Pedigree: 1960's  pieces derived from full deadstock 12yds | 11m bolt of kimono silk, chirimen (crepe) type with various shibori (tie-dyed) designs; intended for use in making furisode (formal) kimono; (Deadstock means old inventory which is like new, but has been in storage, never been used); Authenticated Seal: 100% Japanese silk from Gion district Kyoto; 

Fabric Description: Japanese vintage silk kimono fabric designed for use in making woman's formal dress silk kimono; designs are springtime themes of flowers, freshly budding branches and flowers of various types(iris, wisteria, plum blossoms); geometric rectangular clusters in different colors are staggered vertically. Abundant metallic touches, especially in the rectangular designs; slight sheen, very good drape; designs on one side only.

Type: Light-weight Japanese chirimen silk, many instances of shibori (tie-dye) in all areas of the fabric.

Colors: Background is  a light tan with designs in metallic gold, vermillion red, greens, lavenders, dark lime greens and whites. 

Condition: Excellent.
