Fabric Description:  Maru-obi -- but especially this type from the 1930's --  is among the heaviest weight silks seen in Japanese obis and kimono, given all the brocade and interweaving using metallic threads and design throughout -- scarcely anyplace is without some sort of design work; In excellent condition for its age;

Motifs: These are classic Japanese traditional motifs associated with celebrations, high social status and wealth; Motif designs are on both sides and we show close-ups of the under(in)side brocade threads; Designs include: Royal floral cart procession with chrysanthemums and other flowers, stylized clouds, fans, bridge, country home(of wealthy person),  and many other small accents which are part of this celebratory motif.
