Fabric History/Pedigree: 1980's, pieces derived from deadstock kimono salesman roll of kimono silk; (Deadstock means old inventory which is like new, but has been in storage, never been used)
Fabric Description: Japanese vintage silk kimono fabric used to make woman's higher end kimono; elaborate interwoven and printed motifs and gold-metallic accents.
Fabric Type: Light weight silk, good drape; soft sheen.
Measurements: width=15 inches / 38.1cm (inside of selvedges = 13.75"/34.9cm).; Length= 62 inches (1.57m).
- Colors: Background is fire engine red, black at each end; many variations of pastel colors, light and darker, within the motif designs;
Motifs: Exquisite complex traditional Japanese floral grouping with decorated fans; flowers include chrysanthemums, cherry blossoms, peonies, maple leaves and other traditional designs,geometrics; also has broad sweeping ribbon pattern top to bottom.
- Condition: Excellent, like new.
- Only one of these. Suitable for framing.
