Fabric History/Pedigree: 1950's or earlier, pieces derived from deadstock roll of kimono silk; (Deadstock means old inventory which is like new, but has been in storage, never been used)
Fabric Description: Japanese vintage silk kimono fabric used to make woman's ceremonial kimono; Interwoven geometric grids throughout.
Fabric Type: Light-medium weight silk, design on one side.
Measurements: width=13.25 inches/33.7cm; Length= 1 Yard (.91m).
Colors: Background is ivory with motifs in vermillion, reds and various shades of orange; Flowers and other designs have yellows, greens, light lavender, moss-green and decorative tassels and cords in black, deep burgundy and yellow Metallic silvers used as accent on all major motifs throughhout; silk does not have sheen.
Motifs: Traditional stylized cranes, floral (chrysanthemums, daisy etc) with decorative cords with tassels; ribbon and stylized traditional stream designs.
