Fabric History/Pedigree: Pieces received from traditional Japanese kimono cleaner/reconstructor called Arai-Hari -- see an excellent explanation of traditional Arai Hari by textile expert John Marshall,by click-pushing HERE.
Fabric Description: Lightweight silk is estimated 1930s-50s piece; slightly translucent, dark navy-blue background with slightly wavy thin lines (off-white) running lengthwise, resembles a flowing water stream but lines are parallel (please see close-ups); Design on one side, and there is slight textured feel where the warp lines are; minimal drape.
