Fabric History/Pedigree:  1950s-60s silk fabric piece received from traditional Japanese kimono cleaner/reconstructor called Arai-Hari -- see an excellent explanation of traditional Arai Hari by textile expert John Marshall, by click-pushing HERE.

Fabric Type:  This delicate lightweight silk was originally used in woman's under kimono (nagajuban) or as a liner, slightly translucent; finer fabric has light texture caused by the way it was woven; Background color is solid dark plum;  motifs are what look like decorated obi or fabrics which are interwoven with various designs, including bamboo leaves, chrysanthemums, and other flowers, also peaches; same on both sides; slight sheen in areas with designs, light & soft but nice drape: Recommended for making scarf or accessories.

Colors: Please use our text descriptions to complement your sense of the colors, as color and contrast differ on different devices.

Condition: Excellent.
