Fabric History/Pedigree: 1960's, pieces derived from deadstock roll of kimono silk; (Deadstock means old inventory which is like new but has been in storage, never been used)
Fabric Description: Japanese vintage silk kimono fabric used to make a lady's kimono; Large curlicue flower designs (measure 13 inches / 33.02 cm across, 11 inches / 27.84 cm vertically); with lateral bands in rusty-orange as well as some bands in pin stripes (orange, green and metallic);
NOTE: Arrangement of large flower as shown here varies with one yard measurements, so there is at least one full large curlicue flower and partials of same at ends of 1 yard length; Multiple lengths ordered will be sent in uncut piece.
Fabric Type: medium-weight silk, same on both sides; interwoven with some metallic-silver threads (horizontally);textured to touch, no sheen, has feel closer to raw silk.
Colors: backgrounds -- orange- rust to pale tans with various shades of olive greens; gradation coloring between colors, evocative of bokashi dyeing look.
Condition: Excellent.
