Cultural Note: about Arai-Hari:
*Arai-Hari: Our pieces received from traditional Japanese kimono cleaner / reconstructer called Arai-Hari -- see an excellent explanation of traditional Arai Hari by textile expert John Marshall,by click-pushing HERE.

Fabric Description:
These cottons are mostly indigo-dyed antique-vintage fabrics originally intended mostly for making kimono liners or utilitarian garments. Ideal for hobbyis sashiko projects.

Fabric Type:  Most are Japanese-spun cottons dyed in traditional Japanese indigo and are mostly light-to-medium weight but very tightly woven.

Colors: Mostly dark indigo to dark navy blues; Sometimes we include dark blue-gray or dark-brown pieces when available; Solid, no patterns.

Condition:  Aged and perhaps musty but are all clean and  100% usable.

Notes: Recommended for use in replacing kimono liners, doing sashiko stitching projects, crafts and other sewing projects.
