Cultural Note: about Arai-Hari:
Fabric Type: Most are Japanese-spun cottons dyed in traditional Japanese indigo and are mostly light-to-medium weight but very tightly woven.
Fabric Description: These cottons are mostly indigo-dyed antique-vintage fabrics originally intended mostly for making kimono liners or utilitarian garments. Ideal for hobbyis sashiko projects.
Colors: Mostly dark indigo to dark navy blues; Sometimes we include dark blue-gray or dark-brown pieces when available; Solid, no patterns.
