Fabric History/Pedigree: Pieces received from traditional Japanese kimono cleaner/reconstructor called Arai-Hari -- see an excellent explanation of traditional Arai Hari by textile expert John Marshall,by click-pushing HERE.

Fabric Description: Light-medium weight silk, slightly textured feel but not a chirimen; solid dark black background with milk-chocolate color motifs interwoven; designs are of large peonies, chrysanthemums, bamboo leaves, plum blossoms and decorative cords/ribbons; Interwoven within the chocolate color motifs there arevery light metallics creating a faint shine (copper-gold) at different angles of view/lighting; Also, there are thin horizontal lines within the different figures; slight drape.
