Fabric History/Pedigree: 1950's meisen silk fabric pieces received from traditional Japanese kimono cleaner / reconstructor called Arai-Hari -- see an excellent explanation of traditional Arai Hari by textile expert John Marshall,by click-pushing HERE.
Fabric Type: Light Weight Meisen silk; little sheen; same on both sides; Designs are nautilus shell or whirlpool swirls and 4-leaves figures; Fabric is light silver background with motifs in burgundy; The individualswirl shapes are about 2 inches / 5.1 cm diameter and the 4-leaf shapes about 3 inches / 77 mm square .
