Fabric Description: Lightweight meisen silk This is an early 1950's piece; Meisen is defined literally as 'common silk stuff'; and has grown in popularity in the last few years; Meisen from that period are usually larger bold patterns and bright colors. See close-ups.
Fabric Motifs: Maple leaves and chrysanthemums flowing lengthwise with tiny pinstripes also running lengthwise; Designs have same intentional fuzziness as used in indigo-kasuri traditional Japanese ikat; patterns same on both sides.
Colors: Background is brownish-orange with reds, burgundy and mustards.
Condition: Excellent.
