Fabric History/Pedigree: 1930's-, 50's kimono silk fabric pieces received from traditional Japanese kimono cleaner / reconstructor called Arai-Hari -- see an excellent explanation of traditional Arai Hari by textile expert John Marshall,by click-pushing HERE.
Fabric Type: Lightweight similar to summer ro silk, translucent silk; no sheen; slightly textured tothe touch; stripes are same on both sides; the background is between dark plum and burgundy red, with stripes rendered by different lighter burgundy to plum-red hues of the stripes on one half (see initial picture close-up); Stripes alternate between 1/8 inch (3.17mm) and 3/8 inch (9.53 mm);
