Snow Falling on Sakura in Delaware, April 8, 2016

Hello everyone from freezing but-with-tulips-blooming Delaware! This morning we even had snow falling on our weeping cherry blossoms here (Above)! Strange weather here in the Northeast USA but we're hoping it will warm by next weekend for the Cherry Blossom Festivals in Washington DC and Philadelphia. This blog post has news about a site sale and venue discounts, plus our office schedule for the week of April 11th:

1. Bulk Kimono Package Sale:

We have more supplies due to arrive and have accumulated an excess in two of our packages and need to make room. So, before we post the sale price on the website store we always like to offer those who follow our blog early dibbs.

While supplies last there will be a 30% discount on the Meisen Package and 33% discount on the Girls Nagajuban.

Here's how it works:

When you add the sale items to the cart there will be a discount window. Please enter the appropriate code there and click 'apply' for each package:

SALE ITEM 1: 110-GNAG (Girls Nagajuban) Discount Code: gnag2016

Go to Girls Nagajubans Page HERE

SALE ITEM 2: 110-MSN (Meisen Silk) Discount Code: meisen2016

Go to Meisen Package Page HERE.

  •  56th Annual Sakura Matsuri Japanese Street Festival, Washington, DC, Saturday, April 16, 2016, 10:30 to 6:00pm. We are at Booth G-8 in the Ginza Market area, north of the food area.

Please see their website www.sakuramatsuri.org for full info, including detailed maps, programs, schedules and lists of ALL booths and events at the Festival, as well as ability to buy tickets at discount of US$8.00 online (Cash $10.00 at gate; 12 years old and under no charge.)

This year the parade is at the same place as always, Constitution Avenue 17th St to 7th St. BUT THE REST OF THE FESTIVAL IS IN SOUTHEAST DC, near the ball park.

Festival is in the Capitol Riverfront Neighborhood: M. Street and New Jersey Avenue SE. Metro stop is the Navy Yard-Ballpark (GREEN LINE).

You can see details and locations of all booths and activities (and there are many wonderful ones as always) by using the maps and program guides available on the website (all downloadable as PDFs).

  • Sakura Sunday: Subaru Cherry Blossom Festival of Greater Philadelphia, Horticultural Center in Fairmount Park, Philadelphia, Sunday, April 17, 2016, 9:30am to 5:00pm.

Full details on Philadelphia Cherry Blossom Festival at their web site HERE.

If you come to see us and shop at either of these venues, to be eligible for a web discount please tell us before check-out. Just tell us the password this year, which is "ichiban" so you needn't bring any printout.

Links and venues information, as well as pictures of what we bring to all our events are on our venues page HERE .

We will be closed and mostly off-line starting Friday, April 15th. Orders placed in our absence will still be accepted and processed. We return to the office Tuesday, April 19th. Orders received after Wednesday, April 13th will not be shipped out until beginning Wednesday, April 20th, in order received.
