A Word about Web Catalog Updates

We are often asked, "How often do you update your web catalog?" At first we attempted to set a specific day of the week when folks could rely on us having posted something new. However, in reality that did not work.

Some Background:

Basically, it seems that we add to the catalog in clusters. Our shipments come in regularly, but our largest shipments arrive every 4-6 weeks. Within a week of a new shipment we post as many as we can over a 2-3 day period. This applies mostly to kimono and fabric. Antique and decoration items are added at our discretion.

Bottom Line...

Most of our additions to the catalog are done in the evenings (Eastern Time); We find that most of our large updates (10+ at one time) are done on Saturday and Sunday during the day. Single items are added most any day of the week, time permitting.

To be notified from time to time about changes to the site you can become a member & get our notices by email.

We begin a rather large update -- in preparation for the Holidays -- in August of each year.

TIPS:

**We add new items to the FIRST page of each section and move everything back. We try to keep download time down, so put 10-15 on each sub-section page.

**You can save a section as a "FAVORITE" or "BOOKMARK" (depending on your browser) and easily go there upon revisiting us if you're looking for something specific.

**You can use the search engine on each catalog page and type in, for example "lady's kimono" or, 'haori'. Each entry has the date it was posted at the end of the item title.

**If you know the latest (highest) catalog number (example,as of 5/12/01 we are up to 2286), you can type a WILDCARD in your search and see everything in that group. (example: at the search engine, type in 228* and the engine will give you everything from 2280 - 2289 as well as referring pages for those numbers.

Hope that helps explain how we handle all this. Any comments? Drop me a line anytime, by clicking here.
