Background Explanation:

Due to the fact that we deal in mostly one-of-a-kind items, works of art and unique pieces, the 'rules' of pricing are somewhat different than when dealing with conventionally manufactured items. Our own approach to pricing is that we believe in creating value for the customer and creating repeat customers over time, in lieu of the short-term gain. This means that we do not inflate listed prices and then offer a "discount". Many of our customers become repeat buyers and are more like neighbors than just customers. We like the old 'win-win': A fair profit for us and a fair price for the customer. If you feel you got a great product for a great price, chances are you'll come back to us. This may be a mere slogan for some, but for us it's at the heart of our daily dealings with visitors and clients.

Also, as our purchasing prices vary considerably with the market over time, the more valuable art kimonos and finer antiques or antique textiles can not always be discounted to the same extent as our other pieces..


Wholesale Pricing

  • We sometimes can offer wholesale pricing to merchants who purchase piece items in volume. The terms of pricing depend on the annual volume of purchase and are negotiated on a case-by-case basis.
