Great site. Hope to do biz in future. Or entire condo is decorated oriental style. Wife and I were married 1967 on Kyushu Island. We were stationed Brady Base, Saitozaki (across bay from Fukuoka). Understand that land base was on is now a huge "Sea World" type amusment park. Our first child was born in Sasabo. Loved our 3 years in Japan and the wonderful people of Kyushu Island. Looking forward to pictures of you home village.

Hello. Great site! I am interested in wood block prints, primarily ones that depict bonsai in some way. These seem to be very difficult to find, especially ones depicting the Noh play about the last three "Potted Trees" owned by a poor samurai that he cut down and burned to provide heat for his honored guest. If you ever come across anything like this, I would be grateful! Thanks, Dan Avrin

Hello all! We are just delighted to meet new folks who share our love of these things. We so appreciate all the kind words & emails. We are having some sort of difficulty with our web board (not working as of Sunday evening 11/28/99, 8PM EST). However, as this minor technical hurdle will be surmounted soon, we wanted to tell everyone who stops in here that once it's up we'll put a note on our home page. We imagine a place on the internet where Japanophiles & anyone who loves these sorts of beautiful old things & cultures can 'gather'. We would LOVE to see you bring the questions ('can you find a...for me?', or, 'I have a ... what is it?') and similar discussions here. It would be nice to build a little virtual community of like-minded souls. We more than gladly make such a space available on our site. If the interest is there, we can even add a 'chat' feature (using the new 'gooey' technology). But we'll wait to see what happens here before we get carried away. Again, thanks & welcome... Welcome.

Yoko, what a nice approach to a web visit. I once visited Nishinomia for a week, though Tokyo and Saitama were more permanent. I have loved Japan since 1950, so I will enjoy your site. I saw your information at the Japan Design works site. We wish you real success with your business. mata ne. Al

Hi! You have a very nice site here. I do have a question though. Two days ago, my music box (from Japan) which was given to me when I was 9 broke. It was one of the last things my father had given me. It has japanese art on the outside, and when you open it, it's red velvet. If you could find one like that, I'd truly appreciate it! Thank you for your time!

I recently returned from 2 years of living & working in Japan, and it's wonderful to discover such an "authentic" site for Japanophiles like me. I am interested in collecting & learning more about Sadou tea ceremony items. Is this something you can help with? Anyone's comments welcome. Arigato!

Hello Jacqueline! How nice to hear from you again. Haven't seen the item you mentioned but will keep you in mind. As for 'bales', we just got a shipment in, but, truth be told, we are getting the fabric things in about once a week. Some shipments are larger than others. As for the web site, have you had a chance to see all the new fabric categories & offerings since your last visit? Enjoy. tnx again for your always enthusiastic support

Wow! Yoko and Dan your site really is fancy now. Congratulations! I am looking for a Sewing chest. They are old, and some antique. They have drawers and were used by clothing makers. The particular one I want is one with a measure rod on the side. Let me know when you are getting in bales. Happy holidays. Jacque.

I am looking for a pattern for a simple kimono. I would like to make a small one, about 16" tall, for decoration in my home. Perhaps a doll's kimono pattern would be suitable? Any help you can offer will be appreciated. I would like for it to be as authentic as possible. Thank you. Ms. Coffey
