Description: This sampler starts with a brightly colored piece on top and then works down through the color spectrum to the last few being dark with smaller patterns; there are various types of silks represented;Please see close-ups below of each piece in the sampler; 15-piece sampler made from high quality vintage silk kimonos; Each sampler is similar in color and design variety; The paper used to bind these, with basting thread, is from antique Japanese books from pre-War Japan (see the kanji characters at top of first photo). The basting threads come out easily without damage to the fabrics. The fabrics are all mostly clean with exception of the solid pieces which have very minor stains and are virtually 100% useable. All pieces are vintage, ranging from the 1930's to 1970s. If you've wanted to attempt to work with Japanese fabrics but don't want to buy large amounts, this is a good thing to start with; Great for the quilter, fabric artist and clothing or accessory maker. |

NOTE: Purchase of #4493 takes one(1) 15-piece sampler;
