This is a piece of silk fabric taken from a splendid lady's kimono done in shibori tie-dyeing and with elastic crepe (chirimen) silk, the type usually seen in obiage (special sashes), which can be stretched due to the extend of the corrugation caused by the thick shibori; light weight Japanese silk from the 1980's; Fabric is from a lady's kimono which was taken apart and cleaned in the past; Colors are very light pastels in color gradation transitions(similar to bokashi), predominantly lavender and aqua blues. One side is more lavender, the other more light pastel blues (noticeable in the close-ups). Overall condition is excellent, like new: fabric is clean and there are no holes, tears nor stains; still intact and strong; Excellent example of the fine artistry of traditional Japanese textiles. Recommended for various creative projects, scarf, clothing or accessory design;
