This is a light weight Japanese silk from the 1930's; has a fully interwoven background of various traditional motifs (phoenix, flowers, fans, geometrics); The motifs in white are floral, and resemble ginkgo leaves in clusters. As for color -- in spite of our best efforts in working with the smaller size files required for internet use -- we could not render the color on this fabric, as shown here, to quite capture how it looks in room light; Compared to the photos as they appear on our monitor, the fabric is several tones lighter than what we see here, being more on the light lavender side with a hint of pink. So...as we explain below, PLEASE go by the text description to best understand the color. This fabric is from a lady's kimono which has been taken apart & cleaned long ago. Fabric is light and delicate, with slight drape but is still intact and strong; Overall condition is very good as there are no holes, tears or significant stains (note that almost all vintage fabrics can have some imperfections ); Fabric is clean and recommended for creative uses in making scarf, clothing accessory, quilting.
