DESCRIPTION:

This is a lined decorative runner custom-made by our own master couturier in Japan from a Japanese kimono sash called an obi; This obi was made in the 60's-70's and Measures 12 1/4 inches wide X 28 inches long;bottom liner is silk also, a metallic burnished darkened gold (new fabric).

Major colors are olive greens and rusty browns, muted burnished gold and silvers;Motifs are of cranes in flight, peonies, pines, cherry blossoms and fans; The obi itself is made with horizontal skip-threads where the fabric appears to have these lateral lines closely spaced for the full lenght of the runner; this softens the look of the fabric even more.

EXCELLENT CONDITION.

Made for use as a table runner, or decorative mat in formal room or office, but could be used for other creative decor/design purposes; pictures do not do this piece justice; if you prefer a more subtle Japanese traditional look, this may be to your liking..
