This is a 14 inches (35.56cm) wide X 1.5yards long piece of light-weight qood quality Japanese kimono cotton;Fabric is from the 1980's and is deadstock -- meaning unsold stock from a previous time but in basically new condition. Colors are predominantly indigo with dark to colonial blues in a motif which is a traditional geometric diagonal maze background (the reverse swastika symbolises traditional Shinto shrines)over which is an irregular and ragged edged discontinuous checkerboard pattern; very distinctive blend of old classical designs with modern one; patterns are same on both sides. Fabric was initially intended for making a woman's yukata (summer or bath kimono) but suitable for quilting as well as other creative projects.
