BOOK OF KIMONO

This is a light-medium weight special natural silk kimono fabric called tsumugi, a type of pongee (Most Japanese tsumugi silk is not processed very much so usually has basic earthen tones or indigo; This is deadstock -- unused vintage, unsold stock;from the 1970's; This is deadstock (older unsold but like new) from a prestigious Japanese Department store called Mitsukoshi.

The background color is dark indigo (almost black) with motifs in light blue; motifs resemble a maze done in rectangular fashion.Fabric is still firm; There is selvage on each side of about 1/8" (3.17mm)

Condition: EXCELLENT --Excellent, like new; suitable for quilting, artistic or design projects.
