This is a piece of light weight deadstock silk ( new but unsold stock) from the 1960's called Ohshima tsumugi; tsumugi is a type of Japanese pongee; usually tsumugi indicates the use of more natural coloring without too much dyeing. As a result, the tsumugi tend toward darker and earth tones; This piece has a sharkskin look to it, smooth to the touch, with a color that is a combination of light purple and gray with thin plaid lines; these lines are primarily yellow and burgundy as well as ,light green; same on both sides (Best to see close-ups). Condition: EXCELLENT --Excellent for its age, like new.
