This is a piece of light weight deadstock cotton ( new but unsold stock) from the 1980's with designs on both sides. The color of the fabric is white with traditional dark indigo-blue (almost black) arrow motifs. The weave is called ro*, a type of weave where horizontally there are regularly skipped rows, providing more 'breathe' for the fabric. It is not sheer but very slightly translucent. Originally made for creation of summer kimono (yukata). (*Note: the term ro translates as Japanese gauze but this does not, we feel , give a proper sense of the look and feel of the weave, as it is much more substantial fabric than 'gauze' in the West.) Condition: EXCELLENT.Fabric still strong, like new, still slightly firm. Recommended for a variety of creative applications.
