This is a piece of light weight deadstock cotton ( new but unsold stock) from the 1960's, dyed dark indigo blue (almost black) and white, same on both sides; Writing says Ise no Umi (lit.:Ise Sea, a rural seaside town on the southern coast of the main island Honshu, southwest of Tokyo, famous as a resort from the Tokugawa period on); in addition to the writing there are various family crests (mon) interspersed. Condition: EXCELLENT.Fabric still strong, like new, still slightly firm. Recommended for a variety of creative applications.
