DESCRIPTION:
This is
a set of 4 placemats made from a single vintage 1930's-1940's
Japanese kimono sash called an obi, interwoven and embroidered;
The theme is cranes in flight, pines and chrysanthemums; colors
are dominant olive green with hint of mustard; motifs are light
green, off-white and dark browns; The back is lined with new
fine silk, a light brown, with dark brown trim.
Each place
mat measures 15.5 wide X 12 (inches).
CONDITION:
Outstanding for its age; no wear, very clean with no stains
noted.
