>mebelihotel furnishing in Bulgariae been remiss in not thanking all of you who came out to see us at our recent venues (DC, & Phila. Cherry Blossom Festivals & Hoboken Arts & Music Festival). Weather was iffy for the morning of the Washington & Hoboken events but by noon the sun came out both days . We’re so impressed with all 3 of these events which are exceptionally well run and attended. Something for everyone in the family, just great cultural events, clean and just plain fun events. We were happy to meet a few new faces with whom we’d exchanged emails, that’s always a pleasure for us. And of course to our new customers we say ‘hi and welcome to YokoDana, home of the A Package.:}
We’ll be in Washington DC on June 15th at the Capitol Pride event. Details closer to the date.
We’ve decided to go. Looks like pre-festival will be messy but by noon-1PM it will clear up and most of the day will be great. Hope to see some of you there.

(Ame ame fure fure… is the start of a children’s song about rain…)
The forecast last night looked pretty bad so we were prepared to scrap going to Hoboken — although the event is a rain or shine event.
UPDATE: 12noon:Â we’re still watching the weather. As of now, we’re going as it’s supposed to clear by 1 or so.
We’ll post here when we make the ‘go or no-go’decision.
Our next venue is in Washington DC on June 15th, at Capitol Pride. Details soon. :{

For our New York City & metropolitan NY customers just wanted to remind you of our next venue just through the Lincoln Tunnel in Hoboken. It’s a great day, with plenty for everyone — kids included. We enjoyed the Fall festival so much we had to add this one to our list of venues. In addition to our best offering of individual vintage kimonos and fine Japanese fabrics, we have some decor, pins, clothing and accessories made from our vintage silks. And, we’re confident you won’t find our quality at a better price either side of the Hudson.
As always, if you bring a print out of this, please give it to us before checkout and we’ll give you a discount. We hope to see you that day!
Here’s what’s happening(Click poster below to go to Hoboken’s Site about this day):

Well, it turns out that the problem was not a ‘fiber cable cut external to us’ but was in fact located between the pole and our house. Here’s what we’ve put onto our contact page to inform folks of why we were in cognito for so long:
Technical/Schedule Bulletin, April 19, 2008, 10:00AM (Eastern USA):
Up until April 16th, 2008 we were Verizon’s best advertiser, praising their product and service at every opportunity — but no more!
Thanks to Verizonâ„¢, the provider of our telephone, internet (and TV), for failing to respond to our telephone & internet outage for over 48 hours!!! This means that if you ordered, telephoned or emailed us the last 3 days we were unable to receive or respond except for a few emails processed elsewhere. This cost us effectively a delay of 3 days for shipments, responses to business emails, import processing, order processing etc, as we do everything via internet platforms. We were beyond upset and plan to tell this story elsewhere, to include possibly Youtube as well as to the CEO of Verizon (FIOS).
We have used various Internet Providers over the years, and NEVER had an outage this long! So…if it weren’t so serious (to us –not Verizon apparently) the responses by Verizon tech support bordered on comical after all was said and done.
So….We apologize to all of you who were affected by this outage and as soon as we can we’ll be contacting you. All shipments will resume on Monday, April 21, 2008. We appreciate your patience and understanding.
Dana & Yoko Lewis
PS: If we get a response from Verizon we will post it here, in fairness.
In case you’ve written us since 4:30PM (Eastern USA) Wednesday(4/16), we’ve been down because the fiber cable supplying TV, Net & Telephone (to include ability to access our VOIP telephone numbers) was cut around that time. We’re coming up on 24hrs and to our amazement — because Verizon is usually very fast to reply — no idea of when it’ll be back up.
For purposes of our site visitors/customers this means the following:
- The only phone number which works is an unlisted cell number, **********. This is a TEMPORARY number only for use during this outage.
- As we do all our shipments and related processing via internet we cannot ship out any orders now.
- If you emailed us in the last 24 hours and we’ve not answered, that’s why.
- We will be able to do some limited email checking at an alternative location, but our replies will be not as quick as usual and we’re not checking as often.
- Once we’re able to use our own system we’ll be sending out order confirmations to anyone who ordered during the last day or so.
We appreciate your understanding during this highly unusual (for Verizon) outage.
