Then say hello to Nick and his cat, The beauty of Nick's program -- aside from the great cost (zero -- as they do have a free version, but the Pro version is very reasonable)-- is that it enables you to review and filter things at the mail server -- BEFORE it gets to your computer. We are able to filter email on Outlook, Eudora, and to any number of our different email addresses. The other spam filter programs we tried were bears. Won't
name them, but they simply could not be easily set up to work on our home
hetwork, anti-virus & firewalls. My personal rule of thumb is that
if I have to take more than half an hour to install a program, it's not
worth it because troubleshooting will take forever! Lastly, Nick is not paying me to say this (though I'm hoping he might someday when he goes public <grin>), but given the scourge which spam has become to us all, I felt a moral obligation to share my experience with this wonderful tool for managing UCE ('unsolicited commercial email', affectionately called "spam"). We gave it a look, and are happy we did! PS: UPDATE March, 2003: Nick has just come out with Mailwasher Pro. It is their top of the line product and derives from their work on the free mailwasher over the last 2 years. If you follow the link below, and want to try this out before deciding to buy, look at very bottom of their page for link to a free fully functional trial. For the record, I am an affiliate now for this product (the only thing of this sort which I endorse on my site as I shy away from affiliate links & banners etc on yokodana.com, not wanting to clutter the site), which means I do get paid a bit if you end up buying by way of this page, just so you know. If you don't want to use the free trial and want a copy of the old free --limited function -- version to play with before deciding, contact me. Dana Dana Lewis, Web Site Manager, Yoko Trading 1.
