We are offering this fabric in minimum 14 inches X 1.5 yard (35.6cm X 1.37m) long pieces of lightweight deadstock cotton (new but unsold stock) estimated from the 1960's-70's; This cotton is a light-weight dark indigo-blue fabric with white designs of various mon (crests) and the writing which translates as "Waves of Ise". Ise is a famous resort town in Mie Prefecture on the main island Honshu, home of the most important Shinto shrine Ise (Wikipedia background info on Ise is here) This cotton originally was to be used to make a yukata (summer kimono); Fabric is strong, still slightly firm; colors have not faded. Recommended for any variety of creative applications.
