This is a light weight special natural silk kimono fabric called tsumugi, a type of pongee; this is somewhat atypical in that it has an intentional Impressionistic fuzziness to it caused by the interweaving of motifs, made to mimic kasuri weave (ikat); Color is a natural charcoal black of undyed silk with motifs as shown in a burnished silver or tan color. [TECH NOTE: On our computer monitors here, the close-up below which shows rulers with measurements is the best rendering of the colors of the background and the design.] We estimate this as from the 1980's and it measures 14.75" / 37.47cm wide with selvedge on each side so that useable pattern width is 14.5" (36.8cm) Condition: EXCELLENT. 100% useable.
