This is a yukata (summer kimono) cotton made by the Futago Yama Sumo stable celebrating great Yokozuna Sumo Wrestlers of the past: Waka no Hana and Takano Hana. We have 2 bolts of this: our item # 4902-2 is sold in1.5yard pieces @$10/panel. We are selling the second, 4902-1 as an entire bolt @$35.00. Fabric is 15.5 inch wide and is a lightweight deadstock cotton (new but unsold stock) estimated from the 1990's; The color is a light purple, with hint of plum, with black stripes which run horizontally, and also form blocks creating a checkerboard background field (see close-ups). This is a cotton originally was intended to be used to make summer kimono (called a yukata); Fabric is strong, like new, still firm; colors have not faded.
